If death resulted in us birthing again, speeding up or slowing down would make no real difference anyway.
If the reset of birth makes you forget your past life... then either speeding up or slowing down both would make no difference at all in the very end of death.
Infact, realizing that death means rebirth... you may just become aware of everything so presently now that time itself ceases to exist, and you transcend beyond death itself, in this moment now.
Death, rebirth, slowing down, and speeding up... its all the same in a 'now' moment.
"My soul is like a hidden orchestra; I do not know which instruments grind and play away inside of me, strings and harps, timbale and drums. I can only recognize myself as the symphony."
- Fernando Pessoa (In "The Book of Disquiet")
